ViziSmart Opens $29.95 Court-Ready Walkthroughs to Tenants and Property Managers

Sep 10, 2026

Time-stamped, tamper-proof visual records of property condition at move-in and move-out are now available as a standalone walkthrough, built to cut avoidable security-deposit disputes on both sides of the lease.

Dallas, Texas Sep 10, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - ViziSmart today made its court-ready property walkthrough available for $29.95 per capture. The walkthrough produces a time-stamped, locked visual record of a rental unit's condition at move-in and at move-out. The record is built for the disputes that actually fill small-claims dockets: withheld deposits, pre-existing damage billed to the outgoing tenant, cleaning charges, and ordinary wear treated as tenant-caused harm.

The product is the same on both sides of the transaction. A tenant records the unit on the day keys change hands. A landlord or property manager records the same unit to the same standard. Vizi locks the video at capture so the file cannot be edited later. What both parties have, in black and white, is a dated record of what the property looked like, not a folder of undated phone photos and a competing set of memories.

Just $29.95 for a Complete Property WalkThrough

Security deposits sit at the center of most U.S. rental friction. Industry surveys in recent years have found that only about four in ten recent renters received their full deposit back, that a large share of renters do not expect a full refund, and that deposit fights account for a majority of small-claims filings against landlords. In many states a landlord who withholds a deposit in bad faith can be ordered to pay double or triple the amount, sometimes with attorney fees attached.

Those cases are rarely about dramatic destruction. They turn on carpets, walls, cleaning standards, missing keys, and whether a stain existed on day one. Courts and reasonable operators give more weight to time-stamped visual proof than to texts, unsigned checklists, or "he said / she said." When neither side has that record, the cheaper outcome is often a long argument. When both sides can open the same locked file, the argument usually ends.

WalkThrough Records that Hold Up in Court

For $29.95, a tenant, landlord, or property manager records a continuous walkthrough of the unit. Vizi applies a timestamp, locks the file, and stores the condition record. Keeping the record available long-term is offered at $2 per month. The company describes the walkthrough as a condition snapshot that can later be produced to a property manager, an owner, an attorney, or a court.

The walkthrough is designed to document, among other things:

  • Existing marks, stains, scratches, and incomplete prior repairs at move-in.
  • Floors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, appliances, closets, and included furnishings.
  • The same surfaces again at move-out, so the two records can be compared.
  • A locked audit trail that shows when the recording was made and that it has not been altered.

ViziSmart is not offering legal advice and does not decide who is right in a dispute. It supplies the visual record both sides have been missing. State deposit rules, return deadlines, and penalty statutes still govern the outcome. The company's position is narrower: a clear condition file at both ends of the lease removes the guesswork that turns a $400 cleaning argument into months of correspondence.

Built for both sides of the lease

Vizismart for tenants - the walkthrough is a way to protect a deposit they have already paid. Pre-existing stains, ordinary wear, and work the prior occupant left behind are the charges that vanish when day-one video exists. ViziSmart for property managers and landlords - the same file is how a legitimate deduction is defended, how staff are held to one standard across a portfolio, and how an owner or counsel can be handed a dated package instead of a reconstructed camera roll.

"A resident claimed the unit was damaged when they moved in. We pulled the Vizi walkthrough. Dispute closed in under a week. No lawyer needed," said a regional manager overseeing a 180-unit portfolio, in a customer account published by the company.

On the tenant side, one renter described a $1,400 carpet-stain deduction that was reversed after the move-in video was produced. Another said a wall-damage claim ended the same way: the move-in recording was still on file, the dispute closed, and the full deposit was returned.

ViziSmart already sells an operator platform that coordinates maintenance requests, vendor bidding, and work orders. The $29.95 walkthrough is the evidence layer of that system, now priced so a single household or a single unit can use it without buying a portfolio subscription. Managers who want the same standard on every door can still book a portfolio demo.

SI is the future of AI – just not in the way Trump thinks

With US President Donald Trump recently pushing the use of “superintelligence” (SI) instead of artificial intelligence (AI) in national discourse, the acronym has gained unprecedented attention. It is the right acronym but the wrong meaning. In my opinion, SI should stand for “self-intelligence”. It probably explains why academics, critics and even major AI companies are calling for a temporary pause in AI development. They must have realised the technology’s current trajectory is headed down...
