Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Recognized as an expert in his field, Dr. Martin attributes his initial interest in Medicine to his Physician's father, who fostered strong work ethics in him, while emotionally supporting his career.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Martin enjoys playing soccer and baseball and the outdoors. His favorite places to vacation are Europe, the Greek Islands, and the Caribbean. Professional Publications in his reading que include The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the American Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of American Medical Association, and the New England Journal of Medicine.

Dr. Martin has a unique sense of bedside compassion blended with a professional demeanor. His strong desire to expand his knowledge has led him to volunteer his services in a crisis situation. Dr. Martin was deployed to lead a Critical Care Team in the Cardiopulmonary ICU of a COVID-19 Hospital in NYC. It is this kind of service to the public and selfless pursuit of excellence in his field that honors Dr. Timothy Martin as a recipient of Top Doctor Award 2020.
