The Josie Music Awards Lit Up Music City!

Oct 26, 2023

Nashville, Tennessee Oct 25, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - The Josie Music Association welcomed thousands from around the globe on Sunday for the 9th Annual Josie Music Awards, which celebrates those in the independent music industry.  The massive crowd flowed through the glamorous red carpet experience and poured into the Grand Ole Opry House for the star-studded night.

This was an exceptional production, from the ceremonial opening of the red curtain, which built excitement, to the sound and lighting. The Josie Music Awards and the Grand Ole Opry House lit up the night in vibrant colors with a flawless production.

Special moments included the legendary Deborah Allen being presented with the Lifetime Career Achievement Award by founders Josie Passantino-Boone and Tinamarie Passantino. Allen also performed her smash hit Baby I Lied to celebrate the song's 40th year anniversary.  Deborah Allen's time on stage at the 9th Annual Josie Music Awards garnered her two standing ovations from the incredible crowd. Mr. Bobby Mackey was inducted into the Independent Country Music Hall of Fame. Jimmy Wayne was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year Award for his work advocating for children in the foster care system. Co-founder Tinamarie even had her birthday celebrated on the famous stage as the crowd sang Happy Birthday, led by award winner Julian Sundby.

Special Guest Presenters included Cledus T. Judd, William Lee Golden, Mr. Talkbox, Jimmy Wayne, Dallas Wayne, Roxane and Tim Atwood, Jimmy Bowen, Mary Sarah, Sammy Sadler, Leon Everette, and Clarence Jey.

Outstanding Performances from Deborah Allen, Jay Allen, Hasting, Jess Zimmerman Band, Sammy Sadler, Cerissa McQueen, Travis Bowlin, Auti, Lee Newton, and Leah Oduro-Kwarten "Lady Leah" with Nick Psyhogios.

The amount of joy, magic, and electricity in the air was easily felt.  Experiencing the Josie Music Awards positivity, support, and family feel is magic; nothing else is like it. It is clear to see why "Josies" is the largest independent music award show globally. This year, the organization saw over 59,000 submissions for a chance to be one of the fortunate 2.5% to garner a nomination.  Submission forms open again on January 15, 2024, for the tenth Josie Music Awards anniversary extravaganza of events. Many wonder what incredible surprises the owners/founders Josie & Tinamarie will have prepared for everyone since they have a reputation for enhancing the annual award show weekend each year.

The Josie Music Awards Weekend consisted of the JMA Music Festival at the Nashville Zoo, The JMA Gala PreParty inside the iconic Studio A, and the 9th Annual Josie Music Awards Event inside the Grand Ole Opry House.

The Tennessean announced the 2023 official award winners.
