California Teen Center provides in-person and virtual teen anxiety treatment statewide across California, combining CBT, exposure therapy, and family support for adolescents with anxiety disorders.
Yuba City, United States, September 30, 2026 /PressCable/ -- California Teen Center offers evidence-based treatment for teen anxiety, serving families in person at its Yuba City, CA, location and virtually across California through its Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program. The dual format addresses a persistent gap between families seeking care for an anxious teen and the practical challenges of reaching it, whether those challenges involve distance, scheduling, or a preference for treatment at home.

This access matters because anxiety disorders are among the most prevalent mental health concerns facing adolescents, with research estimating that 31% of teens experience an anxiety disorder. That same body of research indicates anxiety disorders remain among the most undertreated mental health problems in adolescence, with only 18% of anxious teens reported to be in treatment, a gap that can leave symptoms affecting school performance and family life unaddressed.
California Teen Center's programs draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidence-based approach effective in treating anxiety and depression in teens. CBT helps adolescents identify negative thought patterns, build coping skills, and strengthen emotional regulation.
Clinicians at California Teen Center work with teens experiencing Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Separation Anxiety, and Specific Phobias, the company explains. These conditions vary widely in presentation, from persistent worry about school and family to intense fear in social settings or sudden panic symptoms, and clinicians familiar with each distinct pattern tailor their approach accordingly.
The company's guide describes a treatment approach built around several core methods. Exposure & Response Prevention gradually exposes teens to feared situations in a supportive environment while encouraging them to resist avoidance and safety behaviors. Cognitive Restructuring teaches teens to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, such as catastrophizing, that fuel anxiety. Relaxation and mindfulness techniques, including breathing exercises and progressive muscle relaxation, can help teens manage stress, while Social Skills Training helps teens improve conversation skills, read social cues, and build confidence in social interactions.
Families can access this care through multiple formats. The Virtual IOP delivers structured treatment from home anywhere in California, allowing teens to maintain school attendance and family routines during treatment. For teens who need a higher level of support, in-person options including a Partial Hospitalization Program, or Day Program, are available at the Yuba City location, serving those stepping down from more intensive care or requiring more structure than outpatient therapy provides. California Teen Center is licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and accredited by The Joint Commission.
