SmileFy Launches AI 3D Design for Automated Scan-to-Print Mock-Ups

Sep 22, 2026

SmileFy has launched a fully automated AI 3D Design System that turns intraoral scans into facially guided, 3D print-ready mock-ups in seconds. Clinicians can then refine the design using simple text or voice instructions while remaining in control of the final result.

Fort Lauderdale, United States, September 22, 2026 /PressCable/ -- SmileFy, a digital dentistry platform for AI-powered smile design and restorative treatment planning, today announced the release of its new AI 3D Design System, a fully automated workflow for creating 3D dental mock-ups from intraoral scans.

The new system generates the initial 3D smile design entirely with artificial intelligence. Instead of building a mock-up manually through a traditional CAD workflow, clinicians can upload an intraoral scan and receive an AI-generated, patient-specific 3D design in seconds.

The clinician can then review the design, make adjustments, and prepare the case for 3D printing. Designs can also be refined by giving SmileFy instructions through text or voice.

“This is more than a new feature. It marks the beginning of a new era in smile design, where esthetics, artificial intelligence, 3D technology, and automation come together in one intelligent workflow,” said Ralph Georg, founder and creator of SmileFy. “Our vision is to make advanced smile design faster, more precise, more intuitive, and increasingly automated.”

From Intraoral Scan to 3D Print-Ready Mock-Up

SmileFy AI 3D Design simplifies the process of creating a digital mock-up:

Intraoral scan → AI-generated 3D mock-up → clinician review and refinement → 3D print-ready design

Once an intraoral scan is uploaded, SmileFy AI automatically creates the initial design. The clinician can review tooth shape, position, proportions, and the overall esthetic result before making any required changes.

This gives dentists and dental laboratories an immediate design starting point without having to create the case manually from scratch.

The completed design can then be prepared for 3D printing, moving directly from the digital design to a physical mock-up.

Refine 3D Designs by Text or Voice

A key part of the September 2026 release is a new way to interact with dental CAD.

Clinicians can type or speak instructions describing the changes they want to make. SmileFy interprets the instructions and automatically adapts the 3D design.

Instead of relying only on manual CAD tools, clinicians can communicate the intended result directly to the AI and review the updated design.

“The initial 3D design is generated entirely by AI, but that’s only the beginning,” Georg said. “You can customize and refine your design simply by giving SmileFy instructions—either by typing what you want or using the integrated voice feature. Just communicate with the AI, and watch your design evolve.”

Reducing Manual CAD Work

Traditional dental CAD workflows can require multiple manual design steps, specialized software knowledge, and significant design time.

SmileFy AI 3D Design automates the initial mock-up creation so clinicians can focus on reviewing the design, directing changes, and approving the final result.

For dental practices, the workflow can shorten the path from intraoral scan to a printable mock-up. For dental laboratories, it can reduce repetitive initial design work and provide a faster starting point for case refinement.

The release is part of SmileFy’s broader Scan → Design → Print workflow, connecting intraoral scanning, AI-powered design, clinician review, and 3D printing within one platform.

AI With Clinician Control

Although the AI generates and modifies the design, the clinician remains responsible for reviewing, directing, and approving the final result.

SmileFy is designed to automate technical design steps while keeping the dental professional in control of the clinical and esthetic outcome.

“This is a completely new way of creating 3D smile designs: intelligent, interactive, personalized, and driven by AI,” Georg said.
