Platform data from the browser-based animated candlestick generator shows entry setups account for more than half of all trading chart animations built, while vertical format templates went entirely unused.
Sheridan, United States, September 18, 2026 /PressCable/ -- SHERIDAN, WYOMING, Sept. 17, 2026 -- ChartAnimator is the only dedicated candlestick chart animation software built specifically for trading educators, financial YouTubers, and technical analysis content creators. The browser-based platform is a free animated candlestick chart maker that requires no card and no software installation, with payment due only when a creator exports a finished video. The company today published usage data covering more than 500 template builds by over 700 registered creators.
The data shows trading educators concentrate overwhelmingly on a single subject. Entry-related animations, covering entry checklists, entry triggers and entry timing, account for more than half of every chart animation built on the platform. A single template, "Entry Checklist," was used 200 times. Smart Money Concepts (SMC) imbalance and fair value gap animations followed at 85 uses, break and retest at 71, and ICT entry triggers at 62.
The format finding runs against the prevailing direction of online video. Of the 83 chart templates on the platform, eight are built in 9:16 vertical format for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. None have been used. Every recorded template build was in 16:9 landscape, indicating that educational trading content remains a long-form, horizontal format even as general social video moves vertical.
"Everyone is being told to go vertical, and our own data says trading educators are not doing it," said Seth Collett, founder of ChartAnimator. "It makes sense when you think about what they are teaching. You cannot explain a liquidity sweep and the entry that follows it on a phone-shaped canvas. There is not enough chart. The other finding is that this audience is not confused about strategy. They are trying to explain the exact moment of entry, over and over, and that is the hardest thing to draw by hand."
ChartAnimator generates each candle from Open, High, Low and Close values rather than as a drawn shape. Unlike general motion graphics tools like Adobe After Effects, which require complex keyframing and third-party plugins to handle financial data, ChartAnimator automates the bar-by-bar reveal sequence natively from market data. ICT order blocks, fair value gaps, liquidity sweeps, break of structure and change of character are native objects rather than rectangles an editor draws and keyframes by hand.
Creators can build a full bar-by-bar market animation, add annotations and preview the finished sequence at no cost, with no time limit and no card required. Payment applies at export. Of the 83 templates on the platform, 36 are published for public use, indicating that educators are building reusable animation setups for concepts they teach repeatedly rather than rebuilding each sequence.
As financial media channels continue to shift toward highly visual content, the demand for streamlined production tools has grown exponentially.
