Elementary School Science Assemblies With Hands-On Experiments: Shows Announced

Oct 2, 2026

Academic Entertainment has announced a new lineup of school science assembly shows for elementary and middle school students nationwide, covering hands-on experiments in chemical reactions, air pressure, and energy.

Pullman, United States, October 2, 2026 /PressCable/ -- Academic Entertainment has announced a series of school science assembly programs available to elementary and middle school students across the United States. The in-person and virtual shows pair student volunteers with live presenters to explore the scientific method, simple machines, states of matter, and more through experiments built from everyday materials.

The announcement responds to a measurable drop in hands-on science participation in schools. According to findings published by the National Assessment Governing Board, the share of eighth graders who reported often or always taking part in inquiry-related activities in class fell from 17% in 2019 to 14% in 2024, a period that also saw overall science scores decline by four points. Academic Entertainment says its experiment-based assembly programs are designed to address this trend and build engagement during the elementary and middle school years.

Three programs anchor the lineup, and each one moves students from the audience into the experiments themselves. The Wacky Science Show places more than a dozen student volunteers at the center of each performance, using household objects to demonstrate the scientific method. Lessons cover air pressure, acid and base indicators, levers, Bernoulli's principle, liquids, solids and gases, and chemical reactions. It is the only show to have won Dow Chemical's Touch-Tech Award for excellence in hands-on science education, and it serves PreK through eighth grade, with additional physics content for older students.

Supermarket Science turns grocery staples into lab materials, with chocolate syrup, spaghetti, baby diapers, and hard-boiled eggs used to illustrate inertia, air pressure, chemical reactions, and potential and kinetic energy. The show is aligned with classroom science standards and is available for PreK through eighth grade.

The Magical World of STEM targets kindergarten through sixth grade, mixing illusions and comedy with experiments that students help carry out. The show suits STEM nights and educational celebrations as well as regular assemblies.

Content can be tailored to the grade levels in attendance, and most shows run 40 to 45 minutes with a capacity of up to 400 students per performance. For schools unable to host an in-person visit, a pre-recorded virtual edition of The Wacky Science Show is available for kindergarten through sixth grade, with no audience limit and flexible viewing on the date of the school's choosing. Academic Entertainment has been arranging school assembly programs for more than 30 years.

The Third-Party Agent Problem: Why Security Built for AI You Chose Misses the Agents You Didn't

In environments studied for the 2026 State of Agent Security Report, roughly 1,280 third-party products now embed AI. About 282 of them sit behind single sign-on. The other thousand are invisible to identity infrastructure by default, not because anyone hid them, but because an identity stack can only govern what authenticates through it, and most agents never do. That gap is the clearest
