Safety Plus Wholesale of Brooklyn, NY reports growing demand for fire extinguisher for commercial building projects as construction activity expands nationwide.
Brooklyn, United States, September 15, 2026 -- BROOKLYN, NY — Safety Plus Wholesale, a Brooklyn-based supplier of fire safety equipment, reported an increase in orders for fire extinguishers for commercial building projects as construction activity continues to expand across the region. The company, which supplies contractors, developers, and building supply distributors, said the uptick reflects broader momentum in commercial construction spending. The trend has been most pronounced among wholesale buyers placing bulk orders for new builds and renovation projects that require compliance with fire safety codes.
Construction spending in the United States has grown steadily in recent years, with the U.S. Census Bureau reporting increases in total construction put in place across nonresidential categories. Industry analysts have also pointed to continued expansion in commercial development, including office, retail, and mixed-use projects, as a factor driving demand for fire and life safety equipment. As new structures are completed, building owners and general contractors must meet local and state fire code requirements, which typically include installing properly rated fire extinguishers, mounting hardware, and inspection tags.
Safety Plus Wholesale said its most requested products in recent months have included ABC dry chemical extinguishers, along with wall hooks, brackets, and cabinets used to mount and store the units in compliance with building codes. The company noted that developers and supply companies placing large-volume orders often ask for help identifying which extinguisher classifications apply to specific architectural specifications, sometimes referred to in construction planning as Division 10 specialty items. Orders have come from a mix of general contractors, building supply companies, and property developers across the tri-state area and along the Eastern Seaboard.
In response to increased order volume, Safety Plus Wholesale said it has expanded its inventory of commercial-grade extinguishers and related mounting accessories to reduce lead times for bulk purchasers. The company also offers certification tags intended to help building owners document compliance during fire safety inspections. Officials said these additions aim to support contractors working on tighter construction timelines who need equipment available for coordinated installation phases.
“Contractors and developers are telling us they need fire safety equipment delivered on the same schedule as the rest of their building materials, not as an afterthought,” said Jack Shammah, Owner of Safety Plus Wholesale. “The rise in commercial construction activity has made it clear that wholesale buyers need a supplier that can handle volume orders while still helping them match the right extinguisher type to their project specifications.”
